The food is delicious.The service is quick.Above all, the staff is friendly.My wife & I have officially made this diner our breakfast stop on our way to & from Buffalo.

Food was meh. Prices were good. Service was fast and friendly.

Food is good, atmosphere is classic diner. Though, cramped, I don't know how the wait staff does it. Quick, effienceint, friendly and downright good folk. I'd like to come again.....Sunday is tough.....busy. Coffee is fresh and hot. I like it here.

Great Spot!!! Authentic diner in the groovy ville of Red Hook. Friendly service. Outstanding food. Didn't have a dessert but they were all on display and looked delicious.

Had an amazing Silk City Special an enormous grilled sandwich of turkey, bacon, and cool lettuce and tomato. Wow.Service was sweet but not speedy. Meatloaf was tasteles and uninteresting, I blame the person who ordered it. We alsp received the check before being asked about dessert options.

Love this place. Only one I've found that has shredded hash browns. Food is always good. Wait times can be a bit long during busy but everyone is professional and they always recognize and take extra care of me and my son. He's ASD so it can be tricky

The Red Hook diner is so good! Egg creams, gravy fries, heaping sandwiches. Can't get this at West Coast diners - they just look at you funny.

I love Red Hook and this place definitely embodies the energy of the town itself. The servers are so friendly and the food is always amazing. Great prices as well. A nice casual place to eat lunch with family or friends. I always leave with a good mood.

Wonderful small Diner Community Spirit Pleasant I felt very welcome. Also The Waitresses memorized my breakfast order and it's preparation. I am amazed America somewhere is paying attention.

Huge variety of items on menu, friendly service, quaint old fashioned diner. Crispy fries come in little fry basket. Ultimate burger is actually chicken, excellent. Regular burgers, very good. Salad bar, fresh. Tuna melt, delicious. Cash only.

This is such a cute little retro diner, the food was great and the portions were huge!! Try their GIANT homemade sticky buns.

Having your breakfast in the Village Diner is like going back in time. An original "Silk City Diner", the food is great and the ambiance is cozy. Everyone is friendly.

The atmosphere hasn't changed since I was growing up in Red Hook. The inside is small and the back room, while ok, is a bit tight. The food is good, especially breakfast.

Delicious and simple diner food done right. There aren't many restaurants in the area and when you find a restaurant you have to make sure you go in to grab seats fast. The historic village diner looks like your average diner on the outside but once you step inside and try the food, it puts other diners to shame. First of all the portion sizes are humongous, the way things should be. Second the food tastes great, we came in as a group of 13 and all of food was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Lock Horn special and it was delicious, the roast beef was piled so high I had to take 2 bites to get everything. Also I chose to pair it with sweet potato fries which came with the petal sauce, delicious stuff. This is a great place to eat after a day of kayaking/hiking/driving or just if you're passing by.

I tried this place already with my friend and I am obsessed since then. I like the good ambience and yummy dishes and beverages. I recommend this place.

Still the best. I remember going there with my father at God's hour before we started his milk route 100 years ago. It was great then, and it is great now. Extensive menu, always fresh and hot. Friendly staff. Perfect.

Great place for breakfast/ brunch. Service and food are top notch. Parking is a little tight and street traffic on weekends is busy.

Separate checks, tasty meals, truly speedy and accurate service with endearing patience. We were quickly seated, served and never long waiting for a refill. Worth going there. Reasonable prices. We will be back. <3

A classic old-school diner. And the food is actually VERY good. I've had burgers and Chicken salad and their fries are amazing. I will often drive over an hour from downstate just to go here.

Great food and atmosphere

We had lunch at this diner on a busy Saturday afternoon. The only seats available were at the counter. The food was good once we received it after a long wait. I think they might need more help in the kitchen.

The service and food was great. Unfortunately they don't accept credit or debit cards, you can get cash next door at Stewart's however.

We travel 45 mins all the time because we absolutely love this diner. The food never disappoints. It's always spectacular. Breakfast, lunch you name it. It is always great. They have a waitress named Melissa. She is amazing you can tell she has been with them for some time and just puts her all into the place. She's always making it such a nice environment to be in. ♥️

Busy time (Sunday late morning) meant a reasonable wait. The staff seemed like they were really out in the weeds, they didn't come to check on my table after we ordered quickly and the pretty reasonable orders (3 breakfast/lunch style plates nothing complicated or fancy) felt like they took longer than normal to come out but everything was hot which feels like a busy kitchen on a busy day. Goat cheese omelette was strong on the goat cheese weak on the omely. Coffee was bitter but made better with fixings. We tried to get them to make disco fries without telling them and it came out okay but nothing special compared to food in Jersey. Overall it was a very reasonable time but nothing super special.
